Preliminary structural analysis of an aluminum Engine Block of a Diesel Engine for aeronautical application.
Creation of the FE model of a slice of the engine, including Engine Block, Bedplate, Cylinder Barrels, Cranckshaft, Bearings and connecting screws; modelling of the contact regions between components;
Non linear static analysis with application of screw pretensions and operating loads due to internal combustion;
FE analysis postprocessing and hand calculation for endurance evaluation; reporting.
Involvement in multiple projects as Tier 1 Supplier. Main activities:
FE modelling of the Engine System and Fuel System components; modal, static and dynamic (frf, psd) structural analysis for static strength and endurance evaluation under operating loads of metallic and plastic components (brackets, tanks);
CFD biphasic (air & fuel) analysis of the fuel system for the evaluation of Premature Shut-Off and Splash Back phenomena during refueling; creation of dedicated FE models and calibration based on test results.
Thermofluidodynamic biphasic simulations for De-Icing evaluation;
Refuelling System design (plastic and metallic components);
Quick Connector for the Urea Tank refuelling (plastic injection components): conceptual design, development, 3D and 2D drawings;
Urea Tank Valve for spilling prevention and venting (plastic injection components): conceptual design, development, 3D and 2D drawings;
Urea Filler Neck (plastic injection components): conceptual design, development, 3D and 2D drawings
Concept and design for the NEF engine family components (ValveTrain, Cyilinder Head, Coil Support, Harnessing)
Conversion of the NEF engines from Diesel to CNG fuel;
Conversion of the Cursor engines from Diesel to CNG fuel;
